On Thursday, July 30th, in the heart of the Catinaccio massif, a breathtaking high-altitude concert awaits you, enhanced by the warm colors of the Enrosadira (Alpenglow) over the Dolomites at sunrise. Lia Sampai – a Catalan singer-songwriter, actress, and psychologist – entered the music world in 2017 by participating in composition competitions. Almost instinctively, she began composing her own songs, relying on the words and interpretation of her own verses.
In her compositions, she draws inspiration from the "Nova Cançó" (an artistic and political movement that emerged in Catalonia in the late 1950s, characterized by critical, socially and politically engaged songs denouncing injustice) and the "Cançó Francesa," a traditional French musical genre characterized by the great importance given to the lyrics, which often tell stories, express emotions, or engage in social commentary. Her most beloved influences include Raimon, Ovidi Montllor, Maria del Mar Bonet, Lluís Llach, Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and Georges Brassens.
To date, she has released La fada ignorant (LP, 2019), Amagatalls de llum (LP, 2021), and Un Delta fràgil (LP, 2024). In 2023, she also began a new project of poems set to music by Miquel Martí i Pol with violinist and composer Coloma Bertran.
